This review provided an opportunity to comprehensively examine the major complications associated with reverse shoulder arthroplasty and, importantly, to focus on strategies for their prevention and management. Given the increasing use of reverse shoulder arthroplasty in contemporary shoulder practice, understanding the mechanisms, risk factors, and preventive measures for complications is essential for optimizing patient outcomes. We believe that this review offers a practical synthesis of the current evidence that may assist orthopedic surgeons in preoperative planning, surgical decision-making, and postoperative management. The process of preparing this article also highlighted areas where further high-quality clinical research is needed to establish more standardized approaches to preventing and treating complications following reverse shoulder arthroplasty.
